The Artist has his easel and brush; I have my fingers, furtive on the cases of a laptop or running an eager pen on a piece of parchment. To this day, a blank sheet and dark ink remain my image of freedom.
Oh wow. Those wishing trees were in Pasadena, CA -- where I live -- for several months. Everyone in Pasadena (& from other places) wrote out those wishes. You'd have to look through millions before you came across mine & my husband's. I think it's so interesting that you posted this, because I was just asking him the other day whatever became of those wishing trees...
Matter of fact, I did a post about it! http://apricot-tea.com/2008/08/19/blissful-relief-wishing-trees/
Hey Apricot! I remember that post! I loved it so much, I printed it out, with the pictures. In fact, when I went to the exhibit and saw the trees, I though 'Those are Apricot's trees!' LOL. I was wondering what to write, so I scribbled a little something about peace. Then,I fussed about where to hang it. I think you would have enjoyed the exhibition.
Such a power to these trees, to all of those written wishes in one place. We might be going to Paris soon for a semi-spontaneous trip - perhaps the exhibit will still be on!
